  • Mayor Crawford and Village Manager Ron Sena provided a recap of their trip to Santa Fe for the Lincoln County Day Legislative Reception hosted by the Ruidoso Chamber of Commerce.

  • Michael Martinez, Deputy Village Manager, updated the audience on the racetrack repairs and discussed progress on the silt removal from the river in the Upper Canyon.

  • Adam Sanchez, Public Works Director, discussed the upcoming meeting with engineers regarding the Starlight Road repair. He also addressed listener questions about missing and leaking fire hydrants.

  • Fire Chief Cade Hall provided updates on three fires that occurred over the weekend, including a 3,000-acre forest fire north of Capitan, which crews are still assisting with.

  • Alex Koenig, the Community Development Director, summarized the Short-Term Rentals meeting and explained how the village uses Lodgers’ Tax revenue.

  • Rick Button and David Shanks joined the show to promote a benefit concert for local musician Dave Millsap.

  • Police Lieutenant Jamie Urban discussed the Ruidoso Police involvement in last week’s drug bust on Carrizo Canyon Road. He also provided details on the accident that occurred on Mechem Drive last Tuesday around noon, involving a driver suspected of being under the influence of drugs.
