Mayor Crawford and Village Manager Ron Sena recapped the recent state legislative session held in Santa Fe. In addition, Mayor Crawford joined Deputy Village Manager Michael Martinez in discussing the potential for new affordable housing developments within the Village.

Michael Martinez, Deputy Village Manager, provided an update on the 603 Mechem Housing Project, including preliminary information on what rental prices might look like. He also discussed the ongoing desilting process in the river and joined Mayor Crawford in exploring possibilities for additional affordable housing projects in the area.

Fire Chief Cade Hall reminded both residents and visitors of the upgraded fire danger levels and announced an upcoming blood drive to be hosted at the fire station. He also addressed two recent incidents: the Gale Fire located outside of Cloudcroft and an auto accident in which a vehicle crashed into a house on Carrizo Canyon Road.

Matthew Baird, Parks & Recreation Director, gave an update on the WIBIT, a floating water park attraction, noting when it is scheduled to be installed at Grindstone Lake.

Eddie Ryan, Manager of Events & Strategic Partnerships, shared an update on the start of filming for a new docu-series about the Fire & Floods, a project being led by filmmaker Daniel Cummings.

Police Chief Steve Minner discussed two recent traffic accidents: one that occurred in the midtown area and another on Carrizo Canyon Road, the latter of which was also mentioned by Fire Chief Cade Hall.
