Adam Sanchez, Public Works Director discussed the recent acquisition of parts to repair the hot oil tank for the hot mix plant, which will enable the street crew to begin repairing streets around the Village. He also provided an update on the availability of sandbags, which are being pre-staged throughout the Village to ensure preparedness.

Fire Chief Cade Hall promoted the upcoming Blood Drive scheduled for April 17th, which will take place at Fire Station 1.

Michael Martinez, Deputy Village Manager, gave an update on the 603 Mechem housing project, mentioning that the estimated opening date is set for May this year.

Matthew Baird, Parks & Rec Director, discussed the WIBIT and its planned use during the XTERRA Ruidoso event this summer. He also noted that while Spring Break crowds have been lighter this season, Midtown businesses still anticipate sales figures to be on par with those of 2024.

Eddie Ryan, Manager of Events & Strategic Partnerships, spoke about the XTERRA Championship press conference, which took place last week at DownShift. He also shared updates about several movies and short films considering the area as a filming location.

Alex Koenig, Community Development Director, discussed the upcoming changes to Short Term Rentals regulations, which are set to take effect on April 1st.

Police Chief Steve Minner provided a recap of the previous week’s police activities. He also discussed the installation of speed humps on Meander and the potential installation of additional humps on Junction.
