Mondays with the Mayor

July 22, 2024: In this episode, The Mayor and other city officials were in the studio discussing recent flooding and infrastructure issues in Ruidoso. The town experienced heavy rainfall and flooding over the weekend, with crews working to address the aftermath. Adam Sanchez, Public Works Director, was in to talk about street and bridge damages throughout town. Officials are working with state transportation authorities to assess bridge damage and plan repairs or replacements. The Ruidoso Downs Racetrack is moving the remaining season´s operations to Albuquerque. Police Chief Lawrence Chavez talked about the importance of mental and emotional health in times of crisis. Officials continue to seek ways to provide emergency access to affected areas and discuss long-term solutions for flood mitigation and infrastructure improvement.
